The Provincial Government has heard from residents and key stakeholder groups about the need to seriously explore a potential model of regional government for our province.
As a province we are facing a critical time when a plan is needed to address how local governance and service delivery in this province can be supported in the long-term. The aging population in this province has put considerable strain on communities, particularly in rural regions. Ensuring that this province has mechanisms in place to support changing demographics is essential.
The questions asked in this survey will also be asked at the in-person consultation sessions on regional government as well as in the Discussion Document for these public consultations. Prior to completing this survey, you are encouraged to read the Discussion Document to learn more about this issue.
